The IPT 24 is capable of printing 24 pages per minute (the equivalent of 1600 lines per minute)and up to 80,000 pages per month. When used with its optional stacking system, up to 2500 pages can be printed in one run without user intervention. 45 scaleable and 8 bitmap fonts are incorporated and over 100 additional fonts including barcodes, CMC7, OCR A&B and E13B can be installed in the printer. IPT can also create cartridges incorporating signatures and logos.

The printer is capable of taking paper weights from 60 g/m² to 140 g/m² and the fuser temperature is user-adjustable to ensure correct fusing on all paper types. The industry standard HP PCL5e emulation is used for maximum compatibility and to help in ensuring easy connectivity to all systems, including IPDS on IBM AS/400 systems. IGP is available as an option.
