I-O LANRPC
Do you still run twinax cabling just to maintain your workhorse system printers? The I-O LANRPC provides Ethernet-attachment for a twinax or coax, IPDS or non-IPDS system printer. AS/400 administrators maintain full control over the printing process including:
- Managing an actual printer device.
- Printer error reporting to the host.
- Page range selection.
- LOAD FORMS and FORMS ALIGNMENT messages.
The I-O LANRPC is easily configured using the Windows-based I-O PrintControl utility. The printer device is auto-created on the AS/400 and can be renamed to match existing naming conventions.
I-O 5430/5450 Ethernet SCS/DSC PrintServers
AS/400-to-Ethernet print servers from I-O Corporation offer twinax-like device control and printing functionality over TCP/IP, including:
- A real AS/400 printer device.
- Page range selection support.
- Reporting of printer errors to the AS/400.
- Posting of LOAD FORMS and FORM ALIGNMENT messages.
I-O 5430 - attaches one parallel printer to a 10/100BaseT network.
I-O 5431b - attaches one serial printer to a 10/100BaseT network.
I-O 5450 - attaches up to three different printers (2P, 1S) to a 10/100BaseT or 10Base2 network. Each printer session is completely independent from the other.
I-O 5435/5435e Multi-Protocol PrintServer
Ethernet IPDS Print Server for the IBM AS/400 and Mainframe Systems.
I-O AFP/IPDS Print Servers enable IPDS printing over an Ethernet LAN to a PCL 5e laser printer. Two models are available — the I-O 5435 for AS/400 environments and the I-O 5435e, I-O's Enterprise AFP/IPDS-to-LAN print server for IBM Mainframe environments.
In addition to operating as an AFP/IPDS-to-LAN print server for IBM AS/400 and Mainframe systems, these print servers also function as a standard Ethernet print server for Windows, Novell, OS/2 and Unix environments. They can even support IBM SCS printing from IBM hosts. Industry standard TCP/IP, IPX/SPX, NetBIOS, and SNA protocols provide the user with printer connectivity to virtually any host or client.
The unique design of the I-O AFP/IPDS Print Server allows a single PCL 5e laser printer to appear to the host as two separate type printers (IPDS and SCS) at the same time. Multi-host capabilities allow up to ten IBM hosts to send SCS printing to a single printer.
In today's expanding LAN environment, I-O's easy-to-use PrintControlTM utility supports multiple I-O Print Servers. This powerful utility makes initial set up, administration, and updates a painless and simple task.
